Kansas 2025 Unemployment Tax Information
The Kansas Department of Labor announced the 2025 unemployment tax information, which includes some changes. First, the 2025 taxable wage base will continue to be $14,000 next year. Next, the tax rate for governmental employers will remain at 0.10%. Regarding changes, the new employer tax rate will decrease to 1.75% (2.70% in 2024) and the new construction employer tax rate will also decrease to 5.55% (6.0% in 2024) in 2025. For experience-rated employers, tax rates will range from 0.0% to 6.65% (0.16% to 6.0% in 2024) next year. It is additionally important to note that, as of July 1, 2024, employers with 25 or more employees, or third-party administrators with 25 or more client employees, must electronically file all quarterly wage reports and contribution returns and make any quarterly tax payments online.
