Minnesota Fuels & Minerals Taxes—Minnesota qualified service station credit changes.
Effective January 1, 2025, the rate for the Minnesota qualifying service station credit changed for North Dakota and began for South Dakota. North Dakota is $0.058 per gallon for both gasoline and diesel fuel. South Dakota is $0.022 per gallon for gasoline and $0.008 per gallon for diesel fuel. Minnesota Sales & Use Taxes—Minnesota announces sales and use tax filing and payment schedules for 2025.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue has announced the sales and use tax return and payment due dates from January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025. The due date for filing and paying sales and use tax are the same. Monthly filers must file a return and pay the tax by the 20th day of the following month; except due to the due date falling on holidays and weekends, the March 2025 return is due April 21, 2025; the June 2025 return is due July 21, 2025; the August 2025 return is due September 22, 2025; and the November 2025 return is due December 22, 2025. Quarterly filers must file a return and pay tax on April 21, 2025; July 21, 2025; October 20, 2025; and January 20, 2026. Annual filers for calendar year 2024 must report and pay tax by February 5, 2024. Annual filers for calendar year 2024 must report and pay tax by February 5, 2025. Annual filers for calendar year 2025 must report and pay by February 5, 2026. Taxpayers may not receive a notice to remind them to file their return or pay their tax, so it is important for taxpayers to remember the due dates. (Sales Tax Return Filing Due Dates, Minn. Dept.
