Washington Everett Voters Approve Minimum Wage to Take Effect July 1, 2025
Voters in the City of Everett approved a ballot measure in the November 5, 2024 election that establishes a minimum wage. The initiative establishes a new minimum wage of $20.24 per hour within city limits. Large employers with over 500 employees are required to implement this wage by July 1, 2025, while smaller covered businesses have a two-year phase-in period, becoming fully effective on July 1, 2027. Notably, the initiative includes provisions for annual increases tied to inflation, starting January 1, 2026.
