The Arizona Department of Revenue has published its annual legal calendar, which is divided into four sections. The Arizona Department of Revenue has updated its business personal property manual and its personal property and valuation index for 2025. The manual provides standard and statutory appraisal methods and techniques that are used in the identification, classification, valuation, and assessment of property for ad valorem purposes. The index contains tables with valuation factors such as standard and additional depreciation, which help simplify the calculation of replacement cost new less depreciation (RCNLD) of the property. The Arizona Department of Revenue (DOR) has revised its publication 645, "Transaction Privilege Tax-Residential Rental," which provides general information about transaction privilege tax (TPT) on residential rental businesses for property owners and landlords. TPT is imposed on persons engaged in business under the residential rental classification by the Model City Tax Code. The publication provides guidance to those who may not have filed their residential rental city privilege tax returns and for those who may have had an outstanding liability prior to December 31, 2024. There is no state or county TPT on residential rental. The publication has been revised to reflect that from and after December 31, 2024, there is no longer city privilege tax imposed on residential rentals.
